Round Mersea Island Race 2026

Round Mersea Island Race is scheduled to be on Sunday 13th September 2026 Full details will appear on this page later in 2026. The date has been chosen as the highest tide we can find in the event window. In this case we have high tide at 14:26 with a height of 5.52 metres. Tides lower than 5.4 metres give us a very small window to cross the Strood.

The event always has jeopardy, and in order that we have time to align all the individual parts of the event entry will close at Noon on the Wednesday before the event. Following entry closing there is NO changing of start times. All entry is on line. You select your direction on the day, Port/Starboard hand. We do not control the wind speed or strength!!!!

The Race committee will always err on the side of safety when deciding if we start the race, but it is the skippers decision whether they start and continue.
